City of Riverside Sustainability Overview

Hear about the many advances the City staff and government are making, including the adoption of the Riverside Restorative Growthprint, Climate Action Plan, and Food Policy Action Plan. Riverside has received international recognition and won numerous awards, including the first Emerald City Award.

Andrew serves as an Account Manager for Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) and the Sustainability Officer for the City of Riverside. In the role of Account Manager, Andrew assists customers through utility programs and services related to energy and water efficiency. Through the position of Sustainably Officer, Andrew is responsible for the citywide implementation of the Green Action Plan that encompasses 19 goals over energy, water, waste, greenhouse gas emissions, transportation, healthy communities, urban nature and urban design. Andrew also serves as a board member on the United States Green Building Council, Inland Empire Chapter (USGBC-IE).

Andrew received his Bachelor’s degree in Environmental and International Public Policy from University of California, Riverside and is now in his second year at the University of California, Irvine pursuing his Master’s degree in Business Administration and is expected to graduate in spring 2016. www.greenriverside.com, AMarkis@riversideca.gov
