Creating a Fragrance Garden

Jennifer Dodd, Jardiniere Bath and Body Care

12:00 PM to 12:30 PM — Room 105

Come smell and behold all that a fragrance garden has to offer and learn how to grow your own! Learn from a Master Gardener how to develop a sensory garden complete with:

  • Living aromatherapy – calming, energizing, mood lifting
  • Natural fragrance for the home (vs. chemical-based air fresheners)
  • Keeping the sense of smell sharp, which can decline with age
  • Positive associations from scents that evoke good memories (especially from childhood)
  • Encouraging growers to keep cultivating heirloom varieties that might otherwise be lost to new, scentless varieties
  • Choosing fragrant plants to grow from scent “families”
  • Resources for learning more about fragrance gardening.
