Jean will discuss drought-tolerant ways of growing and landscaping with herbs, preserving the harvest, and using them in recipes.
Jean has been a Master Gardener and UCR Botanic Gardens’ volunteer over 20 years specializing in herbs. Jean’s passion for plants began many years ago as a docent at the Botanic Gardens where she also taught herb classes and specializes in herbs at the plant sales. After joining Master Gardeners she became fascinated with edible flowers and is on the Speakers’ Bureau to spread the word at garden clubs and horticultural events. Jean has written several booklets on herbs and edible flowers and is exploring their use in healthy recipes and drought-tolerant landscaping. She gives docent tours, speaks to community groups, and has written an herb cookbook.
